Salla Hakanpää is a versatile actor and performing artist. As an empathetic and imaginative observer she brings instinctive depth and expression to every character she’s playing. With over a decade-long and rather successful career as a self-producing performing art maker, Hakanpää's heart beats now for acting in film and tv. To her, acting is a craft of intentional connection and listening in service for the art of storytelling. Hakanpää’s artistic history results in an exceptionally wide range of creative possibilities, both gritty and sensitive, in her acting and expression: Before taking on acting through a variety of training –speech and vocal work, camera acting, script analysis, character embodiment, Meisner and Inspire acting techniques– she originally graduated with a performing arts BA with the focus in circus art in 2010, specialising in aerial acrobatics. Hakanpää’s work in contemporary circus has been recognised as inventive and groundbreaking and her performance work often described as charismatic and breathtaking. Hakanpää is a professionally certified freediver and an underwater and /-ice artmaker and stunt performer with multiple productions and camera experience, Finnish and international, under her belt. Hakanpää is also a passionate pop-jazz singer with ongoing private training.
